Complaints procedure

We want to resolve concerns promptly and fairly. Raising a complaint will not affect how your matter is handled.

Last reviewed: 20 September 2026

Tell us about the problem

Please contact the person handling your matter first if you feel able to do so. You may also write to the firm's complaints contact at info@ajsolicitors.org or 59 Cheetham Hill Rd, Cheetham Hill, Manchester, M4 4FS. Include your name, file reference, what happened and the outcome you seek.

Our review

We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate the file and explain our conclusions and any proposed remedy in writing. The exact stages and response timetable are set out in the client-care documents issued for your matter and will comply with applicable professional requirements.

If we cannot resolve a service complaint, eligible complainants may be able to refer it to the Legal Ombudsman. Time limits apply. Current contact details, eligibility rules and deadlines are available at legalombudsman.org.uk or by calling 0300 555 0333.

Solicitors Regulation Authority

The Solicitors Regulation Authority can consider reports about professional conduct, such as dishonesty or breaches of regulatory rules. Information about when and how to report is available at sra.org.uk/consumers/problems/report-solicitor.

Fees

Different procedures may apply to concerns about a bill, including rights to request assessment by a court. Applicable deadlines can be short, so seek independent advice promptly if you wish to challenge costs.
